PDF Bender provides a free, browser-native PDF editor that enables users to view, annotate, insert text, draw electronic signatures, insert images, blackout sensitive data (redaction), and reorder pages in PDF files. Processing is executed client-side on the user's device without transmitting files to external web servers.
3. Document Ownership & Intellectual Property
Your Content Remains Yours: We claim zero intellectual property rights, licenses, or ownership over any documents, images, forms, or text you upload, modify, or download through PDF Bender.
PDF Bender IP: The application interface, logo, brand design, layout, styles, and custom software code are the intellectual property of PDF Bender and protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.
4. Permitted & Fair Use
You agree to use PDF Bender only for lawful purposes in compliance with all applicable local, national, and international laws. You agree NOT to:
- Use the software to create, distribute, or modify fraudulent, defamatory, or unlawful materials.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or exploit our web application codebase for malicious purposes.
- Distribute automated scrapers or bots that overburden our web hosting infrastructure.
5. Electronic Signatures Legal Notice
PDF Bender provides tools to create and stamp digital and drawn electronic signatures onto PDF documents. In many jurisdictions (including the US ESIGN Act, UETA, and EU eIDAS regulation), electronic signatures have legal validity. However, it is the user's responsibility to verify whether their specific agreement, court filing, or jurisdiction permits browser-generated electronic signatures.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
PDF Bender is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. While we strive to maintain complete compliance with ISO 32000 PDF standards and maximum browser reliability, we do not warrant that the service will be entirely error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with corrupt or non-standard legacy PDF files.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PDF Bender and its creators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages resulting from the use or inability to use our tools, including data loss or corruption of unbacked-up files.
